Thirty-three people have been hurt after lightning struck twice at one of Germany’s biggest music festivals. The Rock am Ring festival in the town of Mendig, western Germany, was hit by two lightning strikes in the early hours of Saturday morning. According to police, The first strike hit the backstage area at about 1am, injuring eight people from the festival’s production teams. About 90,000 music fans were expected at the event, which is being headlined by Foo Fighters, The Prodigy, Die Toten Hosen and Slipknot.
